An Alaskan True Crime Biography of Robert Hansen, Bush Pilot Serial Murders, and State Trooper Tradecraft

During the 1970s and early 1980s in Anchorage, Alaska, respected local baker and family man Robert Hansen led a double life as a predatory serial killer. Hansen abducted young women, flown them in his private Piper Super Cub airplane to remote wilderness sites near the Knik River, and hunted them down in the bush.

Co-written by veteran Alaska State Trooper Walter Gilmour, who led the investigative task force, and reporter Leland E. Hale, this narrative details the forensic profiling, search warrants, and aviation ballistics that linked Hansen to at least seventeen murders. The account explores trooper investigative tradecraft and the psychological profiling conducted by the FBI Behavioral Science Unit.

Why You’ll Love This Book

Walter Gilmour delivers an authentic, insider perspective on Alaska's most notorious serial murder investigation. Rich in law enforcement procedures, bush pilot aviation, and forensic evidence, this volume is essential reading for fans of John Douglas, Robert Graysmith, and Ann Rule.
