An Oregon True Crime Biography of Brad Cunningham, Marital Manipulation, and the Murder of Cheryl Keeton

On September 21, 1986, prominent Portland, Oregon attorney Cheryl Keeton was found beaten to death inside her van along Highway 26. Keeton was embroiled in a bitter custody battle and divorce proceeding with her estranged husband, Bradly Morris Cunningham, a charismatic former banker with a history of financial fraud and domestic control across five marriages.

Despite heavy initial suspicion, Cunningham evaded indictment for eight years, continuing to manipulate acquaintances and fight for control of his sons' inheritance. True crime author Ann Rule documents the eight-year investigation by Oregon State Police and prosecutors who compiled circumstantial evidence, phone logs, and witness testimonies to bring Cunningham to trial in 1994.

Why You’ll Love This Book

Edgar Award-winner Ann Rule delivers a comprehensive study of sociopathy, legal maneuvering, and cold-case persistence. Packed with Oregon legal history and police procedural detail, this classic is a must-read for fans of Jack Olsen, Gregg Olsen, and Teresa Carpenter.
