A Dual-POV New York City YA Romance of Ballet, Baseball, and Cultural Dreams

On a stalled NYC 1 subway train, two Cuban American teenagers from different backgrounds meet. Isa is a half-Cuban, upper-class ballerina striving for a professional dance company spot, while Alex is a Dominican-Cuban baseball star hoping for a college scholarship. Over three years of chance subway encounters and shared conversations across Manhattan, their connection grows as they navigate family expectations, mental health struggles, and athletic pressures.

Why You’ll Love This Book

Ismée Williams delivers a compelling dual-POV urban romance that celebrates Latinx identity, artistic ambition, and young love. A captivating contemporary YA read for fans of realistic romance and NYC settings.

How We Grade Our Books

📸 True-to-Life Photos: For all vintage and pre-loved books, the photos on the page are of the exact physical copy on our shelf. Brand-new books feature official publisher cover art.
New: Direct from the publisher; immaculate, unread condition.
Like New: Pristine condition with minimal to no shelf wear; looks unread.
Very Good: Lightly read with minor shelf wear or light cover creasing. Pages are clean, crisp, and unmarked with a tight binding. (Our baseline standard for pre-loved books.)
Good: A well-loved reading copy with visible shelf wear or page aging, but fully intact and structurally sound.
