Edited by Grand Master Robert Silverberg, New Dimensions II: Eleven Original Science Fiction Stories (1972) is a premier volume in one of the most celebrated original anthology series of speculative fiction's New Wave era.

Demonstrating the literary ambition and experimental vitality of 1970s science fiction, this anthology presents eleven original, previously unpublished stories from leading visionaries and rising stars of the genre. Highlights of the collection include R. A. Lafferty's Hugo Award-winning short story "Eurema's Dam," Gardner Dozois's Hugo and Nebula Award-nominated novella "A Special Kind of Morning," Ursula K. Le Guin's clever perspective piece "Direction of the Road," and compelling original fiction by Joanna Russ, James Tiptree, Jr., Barry N. Malzberg, Thomas M. Disch, and Philip José Farmer.

Why You'll Love This Book

Serving as a brilliant time capsule of speculative fiction's most innovative era, New Dimensions II is a must-have for classic SF collectors and anthology enthusiasts. Readers who admire 1970s New Wave science fiction, award-winning short stories, and foundational authors like Harlan Ellison (Dangerous Visions), Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, and Brian Aldiss will find this collection endlessly engaging.
