Writer Tony Cohan and his wife trade fast-paced Los Angeles for the slow-paced beauty and cultural warmth of San Miguel de Allende.

Seeking an escape from urban stress, author Tony Cohan and his artist wife Masako travel to the historic mountain town of San Miguel de Allende in central Mexico. Enchanted by the colonial architecture and vibrant arts community, they purchase and restore a crumbling 250-year-old adobe house.

Cohan captures the rhythms of Mexican daily life, local festivals, expat camaraderie, and the transformative joy of adopting a slower, more intentional way of living.

Why You’ll Love This Book

Tony Cohan delivers vivid cultural observations, home restoration adventures, and evocative Mexican travel writing. A delightful 2001 Broadway Books paperback memoir for readers interested in expat life, Mexico, and slow living.
