A Gripping 1991 Expedition Memoir of Tribal Life in Papua New Guinea and the Outback

British explorer Benedict Allen chronicles his solo journey through the interior highlands of Papua New Guinea and across the harsh Australian Outback. Traveling without modern navigation tools or support crews, Allen lived among the Niowra people for eight months, participating in demanding tribal initiation rites.

His journal records the extreme physical trials of mountain crossings, desert survival, and deep cultural immersion, examining how indigenous survival techniques test human mental and physical limits.

Why You’ll Love This Book

Benedict Allen delivers an intense, raw record of solo survival and anthropological immersion. A compelling volume for readers of wilderness expeditions, tribal studies, and adventure memoirs.
