Psychiatrist William Glasser outlines an action-oriented therapeutic approach focusing on personal responsibility and realistic problem-solving over traditional psychoanalysis.

Dr. William Glasser presents Reality Therapy, a clinical approach that departs from traditional psychoanalysis by focusing on present behavior rather than past trauma or unconscious drives. Glasser posits that psychological distress stems from an inability to fulfill two fundamental human needs: the need to love and be loved, and the need to feel worthwhile to oneself and others.

The book details practical counseling techniques designed to help individuals accept responsibility for their choices, evaluate their current actions, and develop realistic plans to meet their essential needs within real-world constraints.

Why You’ll Love This Book

Dr. William Glasser presents clear clinical principles, direct counseling techniques, and practical case studies. A foundational psychiatric hardcover for therapists, educators, and counselors.
