Clinical psychologist Ross W. Greene presents a practical framework for reducing emotional outbursts in children by addressing underlying cognitive skill deficits.

Dr. Ross W. Greene re-evaluates frequent behavioral meltdowns, arguing that explosive outbursts stem from lagging cognitive skills in flexibility, frustration tolerance, and problem-solving rather than intentional defiance. Introducing the Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) model, Greene outlines how parents and educators can identify specific triggers and lagging skills.

The book provides step-by-step instructions for conducting proactive problem-solving conversations, resolving chronic conflicts, and teaching children emotional regulation skills.

Why You’ll Love This Book

Ross W. Greene provides actionable communication scripts, clear diagnostic frameworks, and non-punitive behavioral strategies. An essential parenting manual for families dealing with ADHD, emotional dysregulation, and behavioral challenges.
