A Witty 2004 Family Travel Memoir of a Three-Month World Expedition with Teenagers

Journalist Mark Jacobson details his decision to pull his wife and three teenage children out of their New York routines for a three-month multi-continent journey before his kids leave for college. Traveling 12,000 miles, the family navigated crowded markets in Vietnam, wildlife reserves in Zimbabwe, and ancient cities in Egypt and Jordan.

Jacobson's account records the comedic realities of traveling with teenagers—from lost passports and bad street food to cultural clashes—capturing the intense family bonding that occurs when forced to unplug together on the road.

Why You’ll Love This Book

Mark Jacobson combines sharp journalistic observation with the laugh-out-loud comedy of a family vacation. A great read for parents, memoir enthusiasts, and lovers of global travel stories.
