A Washington State True Crime Investigation of Randy Roth, Drowning Murders, and Marital Fraud

In July 1991, thirty-four-year-old Cynthia Roth drowned during a family trip to Lacamas Lake in Clark County, Washington, leaving her husband Randy Roth as the sole witness. Local detectives and Washington State prosecutors soon discovered striking similarities to the 1981 death of Roth's second wife, Janis Roth, who had fallen from a cliff at Beacon Rock in the Columbia River Gorge.

True crime author Ann Rule details the multi-agency police investigation that exposed Roth's history of bigamy, forged wills, and multi-hundred-thousand-dollar life insurance claims. The narrative follows the financial audit, witness interviews, and 1992 King County murder trial that convicted Roth of marital murder for profit.

Why You’ll Love This Book

Edgar Award-winner Ann Rule delivers a classic investigation into financial sociopathy and marital homicide. Featuring detailed police reports and trial strategy, this book is essential reading for fans of Jack Olsen, Gregg Olsen, and Teresa Carpenter.
