Witty Country Doctor Dispatches from the Rural Backwoods of Vermont

Swapping a polished medical residency in San Francisco for a small community clinic in Dummerston, Vermont, Dr. Beach Conger quickly realized rural medicine was nothing like a Norman Rockwell painting. Confronted by taciturn locals, mysterious remedies involving Bag Balm and duct tape, and eccentric small-town politics, Dr. Conger learned to adapt his city medical training to country life.

With sharp observational humor, Dr. Conger chronicles the colorful patients, resourceful nurses, and heartwarming medical misadventures that define small-town healthcare.

Why You’ll Love This Book

Dr. Beach Conger balances laugh-out-loud medical anecdotes with genuine small-town warmth and medical empathy. A charming medical memoir for fans of James Herriot, medical humor, and New England country life.
