A Wyoming True Crime Investigation of Dr. John Story, Medical Abuse, and Small-Town Justice

For twenty-five years in the small agricultural community of Lovell, Wyoming, Dr. John H. Story was revered as a prominent family physician and civic leader. Beneath his trusted reputation, Story subjected over eighty female patients to systemic sexual abuse, exploitation, and medical assault during routine office examinations.

Investigative journalist Jack Olsen reconstructs how a group of local women broke decades of small-town silence, filing formal complaints with the Wyoming Board of Medical Examiners and local prosecutors. The narrative documents the police investigation, medical board hearings, and 1985 criminal trial that convicted Story of multiple counts of rape and assault.

Why You’ll Love This Book

Jack Olsen delivers an acclaimed work of investigative journalism detailing small-town bravery and law enforcement accountability. Essential reading for fans of Ann Rule, Joe McGinniss, and Peter Maas.
