A Dick Francis & Felix Francis Horse Racing Mystery Thriller of Royal Ascot and Bookmakers

Ned Talbot is an independent on-course bookmaker carrying on his family's traditional horse racing business across Great Britain. On the final afternoon of Royal Ascot, as heavy betting commences, a stranger approaches Ned claiming to be his father who vanished decades earlier.

Before Ned can ask questions, the stranger is stabbed to death in the crowded parking area, whispering a cryptic warning with his final breath. Investigating his father's past, Ned uncovers an international race-fixing syndicate and money laundering ring targeting independent bookies.
