A Howie Schneider Picture Book of Family Vacations, Dog Disguises, and Hotel Mischief

Author-illustrator Howie Schneider tells the story of the Arbuckle family's summer trip to the seaside town of Shoreham. Arriving at the strict Starfish Hotel, they discover a "No Dogs Allowed" policy that threatens to turn away their hound, Mercer. Unwilling to leave Mercer behind, the Arbuckles dress him in a trench coat, beret, and dark sunglasses, presenting him to the hotel manager as "Monsieur D'Puppie," a visiting French gentleman who speaks no English.

Why You’ll Love This Book

Howie Schneider's expressive cartoon artwork and witty narrative deliver classic slapstick comedy about family loyalty. A fun choice for pet lovers, summer vacation storytimes, and family read-alouds.
