The First English Novel by a Bhutanese Woman on Buddhist Pilgrimage, Female Independence, and Karma

Following her mother's death in a rural Bhutanese village, thirty-six-year-old Tsomo embarks on a solitary journey across Bhutan and India, leaving behind traditional domestic expectations and a restrictive patriarchal family structure.

Traveling to sacred Buddhist sites including Bodh Gaya, Sarnath, and Kalimpong, Tsomo earns her living through manual road-building labor and textile weaving. Across decades of physical hardship, social isolation, and spiritual devotion, Tsomo seeks spiritual liberation and personal independence within the cycle of karma.

Why You’ll Love This Book
