A Whimsical Bedtime Picture Book of Secret Late-Night Parties and Animal Friends

Author-illustrator David McPhail tells the story of a young boy and his favorite stuffed animal companions who host a secret late-night party in his bedroom. Wanting his sleeping father to join the festivities, the boy and his animal friends carefully carry Dad downstairs while he sleeps in his armchair, feed him party cake, and carry him back upstairs to bed without waking him or disturbing sleeping Mom.

Why You’ll Love This Book

David McPhail's gentle ink-and-watercolor artwork captures the cozy imagination of childhood bedtime play. An ideal picture book choice for bedtime read-alouds and gentle family humor.
