A Disney Christmas Picture Book Adaptation of The Small One and the Journey to Bethlehem

Adapted from the 1978 Disney animated film directed by Don Bluth, author Alex Walsh retells the story of a young boy living near Nazareth who must sell his aging, scruffy donkey named Small One. After turning away cruel merchants in the marketplace, the boy meets a kind traveler named Joseph, who purchases Small One to safely carry his wife Mary on their journey to Bethlehem.

Why You’ll Love This Book

Jesse Clay's illustrations capture the warmth and emotional resonance of the classic Disney holiday animation. A meaningful Christmas picture book for family read-alouds and Nativity story collections.
