A Classic Star Trek Sci-Fi Novelization of Time Travel, Cetacean Biology, and Earth Crisis

Returning to Earth aboard a captured Klingon Bird-of-Prey to face Starfleet court-martial after rescuing Spock, Admiral James T. Kirk and his crew encounter a global crisis. An enigmatic alien probe orbits Earth, disabling power grids and evaporating oceans with ultrasonic transmissions directed at extinct humpback whales.

Executing a high-speed solar slingshot maneuver to travel back in time to 1986 San Francisco, Kirk, Spock, McCoy, and the crew navigate 20th-century culture to locate two living humpback whales. Partnering with marine biologist Dr. Gillian Taylor, they must construct a specialized water tank inside their cloaked vessel and transport the whales to the 23rd century before Earth's atmosphere collapses.

Why You’ll Love This Book

Nebula and Hugo Award-winner Vonda N. McIntyre delivers an expanded novelization of the hit film, incorporating rich inner monologues and technical lore. Perfect for Star Trek enthusiasts, time-travel fiction readers, and sci-fi collectors.
